Just in case you hadn't yet heard, Sri Pattabhi Jois, the man you created Ashtanga Yoga, passed away, at age 93. I'm saddened by the loss of this great teacher and am constantly inspired by his teachings and fire. I'm grateful for the lineage and the network of family and friends that he has created.

From my blog at www.arkieyogini.com
The majority (over 95%) of my yoga practices are at home. Just me and my mat....not terribly exciting. And when it's just me all by my lonesome, it helps to have some nice tunes to help motivate me to complete my practice.

The yoga studio where I teach just started offering Vajra yoga classes, so I decided to try something new and took a class last week. The only thing I knew before heading into the studio was that this was a more meditative kind of yoga. Since the class began at noon, it was small: only four other students.

I tend to think that yoga became a fitness trend in the late '90s, but these three yoginis were doing it way back when. Known as The Ross Sisters, this trio was big in the 1940s. They're adorable and boy-oh-boy are they bendy.
